NOTICE: The Lithuanian Development Agency (LDA) has been restructured into two public organizations - "Invest Lithuania" and "Enterprise Lithuania". The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Lithuania is the owner of the two new institutions.

Developing shared services, business process outsourcing and call centres is one of the most promising fields in Lithuania. The country offers perfect conditions for the expansion of the above businesses. First of all, educated and multilingual human resources are available in Lithuania. The percentage of the Lithuanian population with higher education is two times higher than the EU-15 average and is also the highest in the Baltic States; All the necessary infrastructure for the development of shared services, BPO and call centres is fully implemented in Lithuania, including telecommunications, the Internet, modern office space etc.

Call centres in Lithuania provide:

  • Customer Relations Management (CRM) solutions for companies in a wide range of industry sectors;
  • Services and business information on a country-specific or international basis in a variety of languages.

Lithuania maintains a rapidly growing network of shared services, BPO and call centres established by local companies as well as foreign investors.

Lithuania‘s Shared Services and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector:

  • Well-educated multilingual labour pool:
  • ~40% of population with higher education – one of the best-educated workforces in CE;
  • ~90 % of Lithuanians speak at least one foreign language:
  • every second speaks two foreign languages, every third speaks English.
  • 22 universities and 28 colleges:
  • more than 30,000 university and college graduates every year.
  •  excellent telecommunications infrastructure:
  • 1st in the world by the number of mobile telephone subscribers per 100 population;
  • 1st in Europe by mobile network penetration;
  • broadest high-speed mobile broadband coverage in Europe;
  • densest network of public Internet access points (875 in total) in Europe.
  • 40 – 50 contact centers with 2,400 employees
